Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the internal audit function at FESCO, reporting directly to the Audit and Finance Committee and the Board of Directors.
- Evaluating financial, accounting, credit, and operational activities as an independent appraisal function.
- Reviewing and ensuring soundness, adequacy, and application of accounting, financial, and operational controls.
- Formulating and implementing internal audit programs to ensure all financial transactions are audited.
- Preparing detailed reports, observations, comments, and recommendations.
- Leading and developing a high-performing audit team.
- Undertaking special investigations as directed by the Audit and Finance Committee or Board.
- Liaising with external and government auditors.
- Ensuring the implementation of Board decisions and policies.
Required Skills:
- Strong leadership ability to build and manage a competent and high-performing team.
- Extensive knowledge of financial, legal, and regulatory schemes relevant to FESCO’s compliance structures.
- Deep understanding of accounting, financial, and operational activities in the power sector.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Membership of a recognized professional accounting body (CA/CPA/ACMA/ACCA) or an MBA (Finance) from a reputed university/institute recognized by HEC.
- A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years of senior management experience in audit and risk management, designing internal control procedures, and ensuring financial reliability in public or private sectors.
- Experience in governance, risk controls, and state-owned enterprises is highly desirable.
Remuneration & Tenure:
- Competitive market-based salary package (lump sum).
- Initial contract for 3 years with a 6-month probation period, extendable based on performance.
Age Limit:
- Maximum age: 57 years at the closing date of applications.
