Key Responsibilities:
The Chief Legal Officer will:
- Report to the CEO and the Board of Directors of LESCO.
- Oversee and manage all legal and regulatory matters.
- Develop corporate legal strategies to protect and promote LESCO’s interests.
- Provide legal opinions to management, CEO, and the Board on operational issues.
- Handle litigation and coordinate with external counsel to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Draft and review legal documents, contracts, and representations.
Skills and Expertise:
- Comprehensive knowledge of laws related to electricity distribution and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in advocacy, arbitration, and mediation with strong knowledge of international and local laws.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic vision to lead LESCO’s legal department.
- High integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct.
Qualification & Experience:
- Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) from an HEC-recognized university.
- Preferred Qualification: Master’s degree in Law (LL.M) and/or Bar at Law.
- Experience: At least 15 years of relevant post-qualification legal experience, including litigation in Pakistan’s courts.
- Must be a Licensed Advocate of the High Courts of Pakistan.
- Deep knowledge of corporate, commercial law, and electricity distribution regulations.
Remuneration & Contract:
- Market-competitive salary, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
- Initial contract of 3 years, extendable based on performance.
Age Limit:
- Maximum 57 years as of December 31, 2024.
