Job Title: Climate Change Consultant
Location: Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Duty Station: UNICEF Pakistan, in collaboration with the KP Provincial Climate Change Forestry, Environment, and Wildlife Department (FE&WD) and the Climate Change Cell, Planning and Development Department.
Required Experience:
- A Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Climate Change, or a related field, or a Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of relevant experience in lieu of a Master’s degree.
- Proven expertise in developing, reviewing, advising, and implementing climate change policies, strategies, and frameworks.
- Strong in-depth knowledge of climate science, adaptation and mitigation measures, international climate agreements (e.g., Paris Agreement), and frameworks like the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.
- Strong understanding of local government structures and coordination mechanisms in KP.
- Proficiency in environmental data analysis, interpretation, and reporting using statistical tools.
Desirable Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite for reporting and presentations.
- Knowledge of local languages is an asset.
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in English is essential. Knowledge of local languages is a plus.
