Position: Teller (OG-III)

1. Reporting To

• Branch Operations Manager

2. Educational & Professional Qualification

• Minimum Qualification: Graduation or equivalent from a local or international university/college/institute recognized by the HEC of Pakistan.
• Preferred Qualification: Candidates holding a Master’s degree, Islamic Banking certification, degree, or diploma from an HEC-recognized institution will be preferred.

3. Experience Required

• Minimum 01 year of banking experience, out of which at least 06 months must be specifically in cash handling.

4. Skills, Expertise & Knowledge Required

• Sound knowledge of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Prudential Regulations (PRs) regarding Cash Management.
• Strong understanding of branch banking operations and related procedures.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Proven proficiency in cash handling and transaction management.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

5. Outline of Main Duties / Responsibilities

• Receive cash from Branch Operations Manager / Supervisor, record denominations for cashier / sorting functions, and request additional cash as needed until the close of business hours.
• Provide account services to customers by receiving deposits and processing withdrawals in customer accounts.
• Facilitate remittance, various utility bills collection, Government receipts/payments, and agency-based collections.
• Ensure effective vault management and holding of cash keys as per Bank Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Forward cheques beyond assigned limit to Branch Operations Supervisor / Branch Operations Manager for authorization and disbursement (PKR & FCY) cash only after posting of cheque into the system.
• Count and sort cash as per SBP directives and match with the details of deposit slips, enter details into the system, credit customer’s account, forward deposit slip beyond assigned limit to Branch Operations Supervisor / Branch Operations Manager for authorization, and return carbon copy of deposit slip to the depositor.
• Receive, check, and process Funds Transfer & ATM-related transactions along with their balancing.
• Handle customer requests (e.g., change of currency notes), respond according to prevailing procedures, and guide customers to concerned staff in case of irrelevant queries.
• Maintain highest standards of customer service at all times to ensure zero complaint management and handling of customers within Turn Around Time (TAT).
• Balance / sort cash and prepare Cash Book; check cash before day-end with system-generated reports and maintain related records.
• Balance cash vouchers and post all cash-related transactions into the system.
• Cross-sell bank products by answering queries, informing customers of new services and product promotions, ascertaining customer needs, and referring them to the Operations Manager / Branch Manager.
• Ensure availability and disbursement of fresh cash over the counters as per SBP directives.
• Balance / reconcile sorted, unsorted, re-issuable, defective, and new currency notes prior to placing them in the cash vault before the end of each working day.
• Identify and immediately inform management of any unusual or suspicious cash flow activity (STR).
• Ensure that all General Ledger (GL) Accounts related to cash are periodically reconciled and balanced with actual records.
• Maintain all files, registers, and documentation to ensure comprehensive records maintenance related to daily cash operations.
• Be responsible for sufficient replenishment of ATMs on an as-and-when-required basis and ensure ATMs function uninterruptedly during long weekends and holidays.
• Ensure all Audit requirements and observations (internal and external) related to cash management are addressed, implementing measures to minimize and curtail recurrence.
• Ensure compliance with Banking Laws, Regulations, Banking instructions, and SOPs including Shariah Compliance related to all jobs and assigned tasks.
• Perform any other assignment as assigned by supervisor(s).
